Electron Apps

HVAC and plumbing

Dispatch, schedule, and invoice the work your trucks already do.

Electron Apps is field software for shops that fix heating, cooling, and plumbing. We are 28 people in one Raleigh office. Hosted since 2016. Independently owned since 2011.

Most shops we serve run 4 to 25 technicians. If you have more than one location, start with Chris at chrisa@electronapps.com.

What you get

One product for the office and the truck.

Dispatch, scheduling, invoicing, and the technician app are the same system. We do not sell a pile of add-on brands.

Service van at a job site Dispatch desk

Dispatch

A board with promise windows, skills, and the last visit. Drag a job when the day changes.

See dispatch

Scheduling

Day and week views, maintenance that recurs, and a gap you meant to leave open.

See scheduling

Invoicing

Flat rate and time and material on the same job. Send it the day the work is done.

See invoicing

Mobile

Photos, notes, and status on the tech phone, including the basement with no signal.

Dispatch

The board replaces the whiteboard, not the dispatcher.

Status is a color on the card: on the way, on site, waiting on a part. Skills sit on the tech, so a sewer camera call does not land on the install crew.

You can still override everything. The software remembers the override.

How dispatch works

On the card

A no-cool call, as the office sees it.

Promise 8 to 10RefrigerantLast visit May

  1. Customer and address, plus the gate code from last time.
  2. What the phone said is wrong, in the office's words.
  3. Which tech is allowed to take it, and who is already booked.

A Tuesday that fits

Hours sold against hours you have.

  1. Maintenance booked in the spring, not begged in July.
  2. A hold in the afternoon for the call that cannot move.
  3. Travel time that is a block, not a wish.

Scheduling

Capacity is labor hours, not trucks in the lot.

A truck with nobody to drive it is not capacity. The schedule counts the people you actually have, including the vacation you already approved.

Recurring maintenance stays on the customer, so the agreement is not a binder under the seat.

How scheduling works

Invoicing

Bill it while the driveway conversation is still true.

The job the office invoices on Friday is the job the homeowner argues with. Close the lines, then send the invoice, before the truck is back.

Flat rate for the system. Time and material for the line set that ran long. One invoice.

How invoicing works

Same-day close

  1. Price book lines, not a number from memory.
  2. Deposit recorded if you took one.
  3. Export for your bookkeeper when the week is done.

We hand your books a file. We do not rename your accounting system.

Technician mobile app in hand

In the driveway

PhotosNotesOffline

  1. Data plate photo before the tech leaves.
  2. A note the homeowner can read.
  3. Status the office sees without a phone call.

Mobile

The app is for finishing the visit, not for feeding a feed.

Office managers asked for four things: photos, status, history, and a price that matches the book. That is the app.

Basements lose signal. The tech can keep typing. It syncs when the phone sees the sky again.

How mobile works

From call to cash

Three steps. The same ones your office already does.

Book it

The person on the phone creates the job with the promise window and the skill. No second system for estimates.

Send it

Dispatch drags it to a tech. The phone gets the address, the history, and the notes from last time.

Bill it

The tech closes out. The office sends the invoice the same day. The agreement stays on the customer.

"We stopped finding Tuesday's call on a sticky note. The board is the day."

Naomi Harrow
Owner, Harrow & Bright HVAC, Durham

"Invoices go out before the install crew is back. That alone paid for the year."

Owner, Vestal Pipe Works, Greensboro

Pricing

Two public prices. A conversation if you have more than one shop.

Annual billing is the default. Month to month costs more and does not lock you in.

Route

$229 / month

Billed annually. Up to 20 people. Where most shops land.

Multi-shop

Talk

More than one location, or more than 20 people.

Contact sales

Small on purpose

28 people. You can email the ones whose names are on the site.

Heather still takes the hard calls. Chris still runs demos. Dana still reads the slow reports. There is no campus and no second office.

Support sits in Raleigh, Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. ET. We do not pretend to be a 24 hour desk.

Bring one real day of dispatch.

We will put it on the board with you. If Electron is wrong for the shop, we will say so.
