After-hours calls without a second dispatcher
A lot of shops think the next hire is a second dispatcher for nights. Sometimes it is. More often the night work is three calls, and the rest is a recording that could have waited until 7:30 a.m.
Take the message, put it on the board as unassigned, and look at it before the trucks roll. Do not promise a tech you do not have.
We are not going to sell you an automated voice that pretends to be a dispatcher. Heather's group will help you set the morning queue. The hire, if you need one, is still your decision.
