Flat rate or time and material for residential HVAC

June 18, 2014 · Lisa Fontaine, VP Marketing · lisaf@electronapps.com

Replacement work wants a flat rate the homeowner can say yes to before the truck rolls. Odd plumbing, a slab leak, a boiler that has been nursed for twenty years, still wants time and material after a real diagnosis.

Shops get into trouble when the price book and the time clock live in different notebooks. The tech quotes one number. The office invoices another. The homeowner is right to be angry.

On an Electron job you pick the style per line: a flat-rate system change, then time and material for the line set that was longer than the book assumed. One invoice, both methods, no second spreadsheet.

If this is the problem in your office, book a walkthrough or email lisaf@electronapps.com.
