Commercial HVAC and plumbing service
Commercial work runs on purchase orders, not-to-exceed limits, and preventive maintenance calendars. Electron handles the paperwork so your techs can handle the rooftop units.

Built for shops that do both
Most of our 480 customers started residential. Many now get 20 to 40 percent of revenue from light commercial: restaurants, retail strips, medical offices, churches, and small property management portfolios. That work pays well and renews, but it comes with rules residential never had.
What commercial customers need from you
- A PO number on every invoice. No PO, no payment, and the facilities manager will not chase it for you.
- Not-to-exceed limits. The tech needs to know the NTE before starting, and needs approval before going over it.
- Site and asset history. A property manager with 14 locations wants to know which rooftop units at which site have been serviced, and when.
- PM on a schedule they can see. Quarterly filter changes and semiannual coil cleanings, done when the agreement says, documented with photos.
- Invoices in their format. Some want one invoice per visit. Some want a monthly consolidated bill per site. Some upload to a portal.
How Electron handles it
Accounts, sites, and equipment
One customer account can hold many service locations, each with its own contacts, access notes, gate codes, and equipment list. Techs see the unit tag, model, serial, and last three visits on their phone before they get on the roof.
NTE and PO on the job card
Set an NTE amount and PO number when the job is booked. Techs see both. If the estimate goes over the NTE, the app asks for approval and records who gave it, by text or signature, before work continues.
Preventive maintenance agreements
Build an agreement with visit frequency, tasks, and pricing. Electron generates the PM jobs on schedule, groups them by site and area so a tech can do a whole strip center in one day, and keeps a checklist and photo record for each unit.
Consolidated invoicing
Invoice per visit or roll a month of visits into one invoice per site or per account. PO numbers, site addresses, and unit tags carry onto the invoice automatically. Export to QuickBooks Online or Desktop with the same detail.
Shops using it today
A 22-truck mechanical contractor in Greensboro moved its commercial PM book, about 340 rooftop units across 90 sites, into Electron last winter. The service manager told us the change he noticed first was that he stopped getting calls from property managers asking whether a visit happened. They could see the completed checklist and photos in the customer portal.
A plumbing shop in Richmond with a heavy restaurant base uses NTE limits on every after-hours call. Its office manager says disputed invoices went from a weekly occurrence to about one a month.
Pricing
Commercial features are included in every Electron plan. There is no separate commercial module and no per-site fee. See pricing, or book a walkthrough and bring a sample PM agreement. We will build it live.
